H&D: What was the very first thing that you drew?

D: I remember having to draw “my recent holiday” when I was in preschool. I was the only one that took the time and went all out with drawing that picture compared to others.

H&D: Where does a doodle lead you?

D: A doodle usually leads me to sort of a rough idea of what I’m going to paint/draw next. I never really know what kind of work I’m going to do until it just sort of happens.

H&D: Who are your favourite artists? What inspires you?

D: Two of my favourite artists are Tove Jansson and Anne Siems. I think it’s the passion that I see in other creatives that inspire me the most.

H&D: How did you come to be obsessed with geometric figures and how do you incorporate them into your psychedelic artworks?

D: I’ve always had a slight obsession for geometry just because you can do so much with just shapes and lines.
