Home to a bachelorette in her thirties, this 645sqf three-room flat was inspired by small, contemporary Japanese homes.

Primary school teacher Ler Yumin gave her 43-year-old flat a stylish update with the help of designer Chris Huang of Bowerman Interior Planner, in a renovation that took three months to complete and cost RM180,000. They drew inspiration from the small contemporary homes of Japan, and gave the home an open-concept studio-like feel, adding bespoke elements that suit Yumin's personality perfectly.

The pantry-style kitchen was shifted from the back of the flat to the front, as part of the open concept living area.
