Sambal Hijau is a great place for introducing friends to a rich spread of authentic Malay food. You’ll get to try a little bit of everything from crispy fried paru, freshly grilled fish, sotong masak merah, gulai and masak-lemak based dishes, to ulam; the more adventurous can even try out ikan patin masak tempoyak (fish with fermented durian). If there’s room for desserts, you can go for Badak Berendam which are glutinous rice balls served with coconut cream, Wajik, which is sweet glutinous rice dessert cooked using palm sugar or Tapai Pulut, which is fermented rice.

Lot 2990, Kampung Sungai Penchala, Jalan Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
