House tour: A home rich in Italian Design

The renovation for his third home propelled this homeowner into the world of Italian design.

1. Italian architect Gio Ponti was the biggest creative influence on homeowner Kevin Eu. “Melteni & C, a brand Gio Ponti designed extensively for, is my go-to furniture brand. His creations look equally good today as they did in the 1950s,” says the private banker. The father of two is new to the world of interior design, but the sophistication of Italian designers and New York lofts – introduced through copious readings of international design magazines – swiftly informed his tastes.

As they entertain guests often, Kevin and his wife require an open kitchen. A Sub-Zero refridgerator and a wine fridge, as well as Swiss-made Vzug dishwashers were integrated into the dark laminate-clad kitchen cabinetry design.
