Augmented Reality for the Home

Born out of the labs of Google, Project Tango is a comprehensive technology platform that allows specially designed smartphones and tablets to be aware of their position relative to the world around them using various sensors.

With this environmental awareness comes augmented reality where virtual objects and information can appear on top of your surroundings. It creates a whole fantasy world through the screen of your smartphone.

The most recent and the only Project Tango equipped smartphone to be launched is the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro.

The smartphone equipped with various sensors brings added utility, including the ability to virtually measure your surroundings with 3D tools and lets you reimagine your space with virtual furniture.

Part of the Project Tango suite of apps, the Measure app lets you get the measurement of a flat wall, furniture dimensions or any points of a surface just by simply pointing the phone and placing the virtual points end to end. The great part is it is easy to get a hang of and measurements pop up instantly on the screen.
