Game of Design

There is no shortage of apps for both iOS and Android that help you design your home, be it through virtualisation or 3D rendering. Those are, however, utilitarian applications only meant for real life renovation or refurbishment projects.

For the casual user who wants to unleash their inner interior designer, you might want to consider Design Home, an interior design game that lets users decorate virtual spaces with a plethora of expensive furnishings.

How it works

Players get presented with a list of challenges that consist of virtual spaces that range from lofts to countryside homes.

Each challenge has accompanying details of the required style along with the cost of participation and the awards that can be earned. Your task is to decorate the space accordingly but with enough flair to win votes

Once the design challenge begins, players are greeted with the space along with a series of little bubbles that presents a placement for specific types of furniture. Clicking it reveals a catalogue of furniture with accompanying prices.

The aim is to balance your furniture purchases and the aesthetic requirements. Whichever furniture bought during the challenge will be in your personal collection, so it is wise to choose something that is versatile and works in most type of spaces for other challenges in the future.

Once complete, you can submit your decorated space and wait an expected one to three days for the voting results to come in.

You can also vote for other player’s projects in the voting tab.

Overall, Design Home is a fun casual game for those looking to express their creativity, but also a great source of inspiration for those looking to renovate the interiors of their home. And if anytime, a piece of furniture in the game catches your eye, you’ll find a link for purchasing the item in real life.

Design Home is available on the iOS App Store and Google PlayStore.
